My journey to become a psychotherapist started while studying psychology and criminology at York University. At the time I dreamt about becoming an immigration and refugee lawyer, however things took a turn when I started volunteering for the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. As a community outreach volunteer I quickly learned that my passion lay in helping others take steps towards enriching their lives and breaking out of negative cycles.
After some time volunteering with Queen West CHC and the LGBT Youthline, I returned to school to pursue my Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto. During the program I completed a 2 year specialized psychotherapy placement with Mount Sinai Hospital in the Department of Psychiatry. Since then I have worked as a Psychotherapist and Clinical Social Worker at the Village Family Health Team, Toronto General Hospital, and Ryerson University.
